To alleviate this problem, we have invented a Swinging Mailbox that will withstand the normal force of the snow from a snowplow. The rural route mailbox will also move with minimal impact from a vehicle mirror while delivering or retrieving the mail. If a more severe impact occurs like hitting it with a riding mower, the breakaway plate will help keep damage to a minium requiring only three #10 bolts to reassemble the post.

I have been plowing snow for more than 18 years and have seen many new mailboxes fail because the design is not advantageous to the snow belt region. Its special design swings the mailbox with the force of snow and then returns to its original position. This mailbox is built for rural homeowners like yourself.

My mailbox system is easy to assemble, which includes a mounting stake, post, a swing arm and all mounting hardware pictured. Installation is also available for an additional cost in certain areas.
